paid leave cost analysis tool

project overview

Most employers know paid leave is the right thing to do, but without hard numbers, it's a tough sell internally. I built this interactive tool to give HR teams and employees the data they need to make the case for better paid leave policies at their own companies.

Building the case for paid leave

Cocoon had an ROI calculator living in a sales deck. I saw an opportunity to turn it into something bigger: a public-facing tool that could serve employees advocating for paid leave internally, prospects evaluating Cocoon's ROI, and anyone who needed to understand what paid leave actually costs a company.

I owned the project end to end: synthesizing data from legal, data science, and external sources to standardize the underlying calculations, writing the methodology and FAQ to make the tool feel trustworthy rather than promotional, and working with a developer to build it as an interactive web experience. The final tool includes a paid leave cost calculator, a Cocoon ROI calculator showing how much companies save by using the platform, and a customizable internal pitch deck employees can take straight to their leadership team.

The impact

The tool became one of Cocoon's top revenue-driving assets. Tool viewers are up to 8x more likely to request a demo than non-tool visitors, with a 5.4% conversion rate vs. 0.6% for non-tool pages.
