Leave compliance in the U.S. is a moving target. With 43 state laws and counting governing parental, medical, and caregiver leave, People teams are constantly trying to keep up with what's changing and what it means for their employees. I built this tool to reflect the ease that technology brings to an otherwise overwhelming compliance problem.

Building Cocoon's most-visited resource
The goal was twofold: give People leaders a genuinely useful reference they'd come back to, and establish Cocoon as the authoritative voice on leave compliance. I worked with legal and design to build an interactive map covering every state's leave laws across parental, medical, and caregiver leave, with individual state sub-pages to capture long-tail SEO traffic and serve readers who needed to go deeper on a specific state.
The tool was designed to do the work of a compliance expert in a format anyone could use. Rather than a dense legal document, it's a clean, scannable reference that makes the complexity of multi-state compliance feel manageable and positions Cocoon as the partner that can take it off your plate entirely.
The impact
The state leave law map became Cocoon's most visited tool, driving 32% of all content traffic over two years and earning top SEO rankings for 'state leave laws' and related keywords. Visitors who view the map are 1.6x more likely to convert to a demo than the average site visitor.
